I used the embellishments in the kit to replicate the circles in the sketch. This kit is very fun with lots of bright colors.

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge – Happy Hellos }

Hi and welcome to our  Impression Obsession challenge – Happy Hellos. For this card I used circles and triangles paired with butterflies.

Hello friend by Daniela Dobson

The Really Useful Stamps – Circles comes with circles and triangles and plus signs. Didn’t add any plus signs this time, but the stamp set is awesome. I die cut “hello” from orange cardstock and added the sentiment with black ink under it.  The colors came from Color Throwdown #389. I stamped and fussy cut the butterflies and sprinkled some color shine and sequins. I adhered the butterflies and sequins with Zots adhesive dots from Therm O Web.

{ April 2016 Card Kit from Scraptastic Club }

Hello. Today I am sharing my first three cards with our April 2016 card kit. The exclusive stamp set that comes in this kit is super adorable. I stamped one of the tea cups on watercolor paper and colored it with watercolor. I cut it out and adhered it to the card using foam adhesive. How adorable are those Tea Tag die cuts? This one says “miss you”. I added white twine to it and it really looks like a tea bag.  I exclusive stickers in the corner, sequins and some more stamping on the card.

Miss you by Daniela Dobson

For my second card I used the heart stencil that came in the kit and used modeling paste to add hearts to the front of the card. I wrapped yellow twine several times around the front and tied it into a bow. I added a little tea tag die cut. Thank you sticker is adhered to the card with foam adhesive.

Thank you by Daniela Dobson
For my last card I really liked that plus sign patterned paper that is in the kit. I used that as my base. I added several strips of patterned paper to the top with a sentiment sticker under it. I wrapped the twine several times around the card front and tied it into a bow. I added a flower sticker and sequins to the top border. I colored in come of the plus signs with yellow watercolor to make them pop.

That is all from me today. Have a great Monday!

Each Friday this month the Impression Obsession team will be sharing projects using Chameleon pens and the Chameleon team will be sharing projects using Impression Obsession stamps.

Be sure to visit the Chameleon Blog to see their teams projects and enter for a chance to win a set of 5 Chameleon pens!

I don’t own any real markers like this and I don’t typically color with them so I was really excited to try them out. I figured a butterfly would be pretty neat to color. I used Watercolor Butterfly for this card. It’s pretty big and I heat embossed it on watercolor paper and colored it with Royal Blue from the 5 pen Primary Tones Set.

Happy Mother's Day by Daniela Dobson

The small butterflies are from Sm. Butterfly Trio and I colored them with Summer Sun. I heat embossed them and cut them out after I colored them. The background is stamped with Gentle Branch that I colored with Grass Green. I colored the stamp and then stamped that way, and filled in some of the leaves. I added some Whipped Spackle with a mask and some color shine. The sentiment is from Happy Day stamp set.

{ March 2016 Card Kit from Scraptastic Club–part 2 }

Hi! I have two more cards I created with the March card kit while I am waiting for the new one to arrive any day now. I have been using stencils on my cards quite often and I have recently moved them really close to my work area so that I can just open a drawer and they are all there. No more searching around for them. In addition, I keep my Whipped Spackle (my favorite modeling paste) near by, as well.

For this card I applied Liquitex Clear Gesso to the background. This provides the perfect "tooth" to the area, in this case, patterned paper. Once you add other mediums, like watercolor, it will not absorb into the paper. It stays on top and keeps it bright. Plus, it doesn’t soak through the paper. What I have at home is Liquitex Clear Gesso that I got at my local craft store. I applied Whipped Spackle using the triangle stencil that came in my March Drops Of Jupiter Kit.

Hello  by Daniela Dobson

For the second card I just layered the bits and pieces on top of patterned paper and added some stamped stripes from the stamp set. I sprinkled some color shine from my stash.

Here is what our April 2016 card kit looks like. Fun!!

{ Impression Obsession DT challenge – Birthday Wishes }

Hi and welcome to our  Impression Obsession challenge – Birthday Wishes. For this card I used all my new stamps and dies.

Birthday wishes by Daniela Dobson

I found the colors in the Color Throwdown Challenge #387: aqua, yellow, orange and red. Fun mix, right. I started my card with a Graph Paper background stamp. I added tow pieces of washi to the top, orange and aqua. Under that I stamped Chalk Dot Border with Aqua ink. I have been using my diamond stencil from the StencilGirl Products a bunch lately so here I go again with Whipped Spackle.

I added some circles that were laying around from my Sihouette cuts. “Wishes” was die cut from red cardstock and then I added a cabochon flower. I wanted a little sparkle on the card so I added some dots of Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive and Gold Deco Foil.

{ Perfect Paper Crafting and Impression Obsession }

We are teaming up with Perfect Paper Crafting today and I am sharing a card I created with my Perfect Paper Crafting Mini Layers Tool and Perfect Cuttiting Mat. Link to all the product I used at the end of the blog post.

Miss you by Daniela Dobson

I started my card with a piece of patterned paper that I covered with Gesso. I love using gesso, especially to tone or mute the background.

Photo Mar 30, 12 04 21 PM

After gesso dried I stamped Vintage Briar Rose Background. I ised my heat tool to speed up the process.

Photo Mar 30, 12 08 55 PM

My favorite border size is 1/16 and 1/8. I adhered my patterned paper to cardstock and line up the Perfect Layers Mini tool up along the edge. Perfect Layers is designed with a patented “catch lip” that simply "bumps" up along the paper.  My favorite part is that it has a stainless-steel edging for durability and smoothness of cutting. No more cutting into my ruler with an exacto knife. I used The Perfect Little Cutting Mat for all my cutting. It’s 8x10, double sided - Metric (cm) on one side and Imperial (inches) on the other and printed grid lines - includes card template size.

Photo Mar 30, 1 21 29 PM

My pink cardstock is 1/16” border and the gold stripe paper is 1/8” border. After those two, I added another 1/16” border with black cardstock.

Photo Mar 30, 1 25 51 PM

Befor I could leave my base alone I had to add some whipped spackle with my new Striped Circles Stencil from StencilGirl Products.

Photo Mar 30, 1 41 12 PM

The last step is die cutting all the bits and pieces and adhering them to the card. Special attention was given to my daisy flower. I used Spiral Daisy Die. Once the flower was formed I added Deco Foil Adhesive and once it dried for a bit I added Gold Deco Foil. For the Large Solid Leaf Stem I used leftover gold foil and die cut the leaves from that.
