{ CPS sketch #37 }

For this sketch challenge I used my new DCWV Christmas stack with glitter. The colors are so pretty and I just love all the glitter. I used my new Michaels stamp for the sentiment.

Here are two other cards I made with the same stack. I hope everyone is enjoying Halloween. I can't believe it's the last day of the month, tomorrow is November and it's still warm here in Texas.

{ Paint and glitter }

I got this 12" chipboard vine that I didn't know what to do with so I cut it up. I painted it with white paint and sprinkled with glitter while still wet. The glitter is really fine and I had it forever. I wish you could see the sparkle. Patterned paper is DCWV All Dressed Up, Prima flowers, Making Memories rub-on, and Jenni Bowlin journaling tag.
I painted all evening. I hope to have it finished tomorrow so I can show you. It's been quiet in the blog world today, I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

{ New stamps at Michaels }

Did you miss me yesterday? I was gone for the day and look what I found!!!! They had this mess of boxes while I was there so I just asked the lady to open some with the stamps, she was sweet and she did. Have you seen these yet? There are more, but these are the ones I liked. I went back this morning to see it there was anything else, but they are still unpacking. I was hoping to see those little clear ones. Let me know if you see anything else new. I am getting close to 30,000 hits and I wanted to give away some blog candy soon. You never know...

{ CPS sketch #36 }

I made this card for CPS sketch #36. I used my new The Rockstar stack from DCWV and some Rock Diva rhinestones. You can't tell in the photo, but they are pink.

I just love this adorable paper from Nana's Kids paper stack. Little chipboard embellishments and alphas come all together in a cute box. I made this card for card a day sketch challenge. By the time I am done with the challenge I will have 13 cards!!! How cool is that.

This last little one is my DT work for Create My Keepsake. Dream Street papers. I added some rub-ons from Creative Imaginations and Offray ribbon.

***Heike - the stitches on this card are from DCWV. You can see them here.

{ Sketch this cards # 29 }

OK, I have moved on...I am playing with the new stack: All Dressed Up from DCWV. I made this for Sketch this cards. I decided not to wait until the last minute. All DCWV products including the rub-ons, Prima flowers that I added little jewels to.
I can't believe it's so late. I was watching TV all night.
Someone asked in the last post if I was joking about English being my second language. No I am not joking. I was born in Germany and grew up in Croatia. I moved here when I was 14. My family lives in Croatia and my mother is coming to visit in January, it will be her first time here. She is staying with us for a couple of months to help us with the baby. I can't wait.

{ Down Under }

How about a different post today? I wanted to share with you some other projects that I am working on.
Down Under is the theme of our baby's room. This is not our actual room, this is just a photo from the website. Our furniture is lighter wood, and we don't have the crib yet. We didn't want the traditional boy colors and after countless crib sets we decided on this.
I am working on the wall decor now. I wanted to paint some of the characters that are in this set for the walls. The room is pretty big. I went and bought canvas and paints earlier this week and I finished one painting the other night.
Here is the wall hanging that came with the set.

Here is my painting. I will paint the butterfly on cardstock and then cut it out and adhere it to the corner. This canvas is 10 x 10.

I am working on a large canvas now, 16 x 20, and I will paint a Kangaroo and a Koala on that one. I like the way the quilt looks and the animals are larger and will fit perfectly on the canvas (see the quilt below). I have three large canvases to do and I would like to do more small ones. It's pretty fun. I plan on sewing some pillows for the full size bed that is in the room and maybe some drape panels.
I will keep you updated on the room, paintings and the sewing. I have more time now that I am not working, which is really strange. I have been working for the past 18 years and time off is really nice.I bought fabric to sew receiving blankets and burp cloths. That is my next project.

{ Wishing On A Star }

I made this album for Create My Keepsakes with Dream Street chipboard album and patterned papers, Nancy collection. Dream Street is out sponsor this month. Come check out our DT gallery. We have Dream Street contest going on for a wonderful prize pack.
This paper is so elegant and I knew I wanted to use my wedding photos for this album. I added some chipboard silver stars, stamps and some jewels. I printed the poem on self-adhesive clear matte appliqué film and cut it out to fit my pages. To hold the album together I used silver rings that I added some ribbon to. We got married August 4, 2005. Maui, Hawaii.

{ Beate's weekend sketch challenge # 23 }

Love this super simple sketch by Beate. I am still playing with SEI papers, but these are from Madera Island collection. The beautiful stamp is by Impression-Obsession, Loving Daisies. I decided it was perfect just stamped in Creamy Caramel and then I inked the edges using a little brush (color duster).
It's raining here today, a perfect day to stay home and get some things done.

{ CPS sketch #34 }

OK, so I am not totally behind, I got some work done today !!!! I never took a photo of the goodie boxes I received from Cards, Scrapbook Trends and Paper Trends....well, I should have because I got some awesome goodies. Cardstock, patterned paper and stickers are from SEI Ally's Wonderland collection, the little stamp, "happy day" is from a set by Inkadinkado. I just love all the colors. For this card I used CPS sketch #34. I see that they have a new sketch posted for this week.

{ I am back !!! }

I am back and I wanted to share some photos from our trip. It's been busy around here trying to catch up on emails and message boards, housework and unpacking...you know how it is. We didn't get in until 3:30 am this morning and I am tired. We had fun, even though, at times, it was exhausting for me. I can't wait to make some cards, I really missed it.

I know you can't tell how huge I am in this photo, but this was one of the better ones. Still working on uploading all the photos. Don't worry I have more and I hope some with my belly. I saw this little display on my way to the bathroom (one of many) at one of the hotels, can't remember which one, and I thought it was cute.

...is tomorrow, October 6th. We are celebrating World Card Making day at Create My Keepsake with challenges and prizes. If you have some free time come and play with us. I am hosting two sketch challenges. I will post the sketches tomorrow. All the festivities start at 10:00 am CST.

{ CPS/Card Maker Magazine contest }

I waited until the last minute to play. CPS has this contest going on with Card Maker Magazine. I received these wonderful papers yesterday in my goodie box from Cards and Scrapbook Trends for my Cards September and ST Home For The Holidays book. All the paper here is Ally's Wonderland collection from SEI. I made my butterfly from a chipboard flower that I cut apart and covered with paper. I added some puff paint dots to the wings. 100% Summer stamp is from Impression Obsession.
You might have seen these little butterflies that I made from chipboard corners before. I can't show you the card or the layout since they are both being published, but I can show you an example. Anyway, same concept here, except I used the flower and snipped away the extra petals.
