{ SCS sketch challenge 126 }

I am looking forward to Tuesdays every week for the sketch challenge at SCS. It gives you a starting point and then you just go from there. I finished my card today, and I love this color combo. I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder and I don't have a Cuttlebug, I just use my Sizzix machine. Patterned paper is from Autumn Leaves, my Marvy Uchida scalloped punch that I love. The large flower stamp is from Delight In Life stamp set from SU. Little blue flower stamp is from Stamps by Judith, the little 3 berry sprig stamp is from Rubber Stamp Tapestry. All ink is from SU. Sentiment is a clear stamp by Brenda Walton.

I got my goodies from Paper Salon today - thank you. I won a prize for a sketch challenge last week and you can see my card here. I love that new All Stitched Up paper collection and stamps. I was hoping I would get that prize package. I can't wait to start playing.

{ Published work - March 2007 }

I forget that I can post my published work several months after the publications come out. This card is in March 2007 issue of CARDS. I get amazed every time I get that email for a submissions request. I made this card in August last yar after I took a class with Elsie, here in town. We made an album with Scenic route papers and I had some left over paper. The flourish rub-on is from Basic Grey.
I am working on the next SCS sketch, I love it.

Cathy, you goodies are on the way.

...and we had some visitors this evening.

{ Beate's Sketch Challenge # 3 }

I know I am late, but that's OK. I had these made for couple of days, but it has been raining here for days and the photos were not coming out. Beate had this cute sketch and I just had to make a card...or two.
This first one is all DCWV patterned paper and cardstock. I used my Marvy Uchida scalloped punch. For my circle I used Fiskars shape template, it fits perfectly. Two stamps are from Michaels, I have so many....Ribbon is May Arts.
This second card was very hard to photograph. For the card base I used metallic cardstock from DCWV and this beautiful pearlized and metallic patterned paper from The Luxury stack. My soon to be retired stamp is from Love Ya Bunches set from SU. I colored the image with my pastel pencils.

{ Blog Candy Winner !!!!! }

We have a winner!!!! Cathy said: This candy is just way to sweet. What fun you could have with all of this. My mind is just going crazy thinking of all the things I could do if I won. I'm coming from Cleveland Missouri...that's right Missouri...not Ohio. Cathy, email me your address so I can send you all these goodies. Congrats. This was fun. I didn't expect to have so many people stop by. Thank you. I will be doing this again so keep reading.

{ Holiday card challenge }

Melissa Phillips challenged us to make a card this weekend. It had to be a patriotic card with red, white, and blue, with at least one star on it. You can read her post at Create My Keepsake. She is giving away some goodies to the winner.
I wanted my card to sparkle so I used embossing glitter. It's not something I do often, but it was fun and I like how it turned out. All patterned papers are from DCWV, stamp is from Autumn Leaves. Pressed Petals chipboard star which I stamped and embossed. American Crafts ribbon.

{ SCS sketch challenge 125 }

Here is a quick card I made earlier this week for the SCS sketch challenge. I used DCWV patterned paper that is embossed and it has glitter. It is from Nana's Kids collection. The flower stamp is from Art Warehouse, the flourish is from DeNami Design, and the little sentiment stamp is from Michaels. All paper and cardstock is from DCWV and ink is from Stampin' Up.
Have a great weekend.

{ Scrappy Aprons }

My friend Kimberly made this little beauty for me last month and I just now have a picture of me with it. You can find all about them at Scrappy Aprons. Thank you Kimberly, I love it.

{ SCS Way to use it challenge 114 }

This is my first time to try this one - Going Yo Yo. I am loving these challenges and it is fun to try new things. I have never used Yoyo Yellow or this stamp set, Blooming With Happiness, until yesterday. I like Julia's example and I was looking for red patterned paper like that, but I don't have any. I did find this hot pink one by DCWV and it matched my Pink Passion marker perfectly. I stamped, and cut out little flowers from Simply Said set. The scalloped stamp at the bottom is from Impression Obsession and after I stamped it I cut out the bottom part. The photo is not the best, it's been raining here for days. When the sun comes out I will try to take another picture.
I have so many great visitors to this blog. I will come and stop by in the next few days and weeks...I will try to answer some of your questions, as well.
Patty H. from Valleyford, Washington asked: "I would like to know how you enjoy your new blog and is it hard to keep writing in it and coming up with things to write about?"
It was hard at first, because I didn't know what to write about, and I didn't want people reading laughing at me. The more you write the easier it gets. I make sure I have something new to post and I just write about that.
Have a great weekend.

{ SCS color challenge 115 }

I have all these papers and I hardly ever use them, this was fun, no patterned paper today, just cardstock. Challenge is to use Certainly Celery, Vintage Violet (or Elegant Eggplant), Old Olive...how fun is that. I used Vintage Violet and Old Olive. This was my first time to use this wheel, Bodacious Bouquet. I know I have a lot of stuff. The butterfly and the sentiment stamp "Just for you" are from Impression Obsession. The scalloped edge is made using my Fiskars shape template. I bought a 1/8"hole punch the other day at Hobby Lobby. Did I forget anything? Oh, yes, for my decorative corners I used my Fiskars corner punch, another thing that gets neglected. The butterfly is cut out and the wings are bent back so that it looks like he is just resting there before he takes off again.
I keep mentioning that blog candy...it's ready I just have to take a picture and post it...tomorrow.
Did I go overboard, three post in one day???

{ CPS Card Contest Sketch }

CPS has a sketch contest with some great prizes and two winners will be published in Scrapbook & Cards Today Fall 2007 issue. Pretty cool.
I just made this card and I came up with it while I was cleaning. I made 8 cards in the last two days, all during my cleaning spree. I did make some progress, but still not done. OK, back to my card. I have this wonderful fall stack from
DCWV filled with beautiful colors of fall. I used my Stampin' Up stamps from Give Thanks set. I love my little watercolor set from Chartpak, they stack on top of each other and they are easy to store. I always thought I needed a big set, but this is just enough. I did stamp with StazOn black ink on watercolor paper, I don't have brown, yet, I wish I did. I might have to visit Hobby Lobby this week, they have all their dye and pigment ink pads 50% off. For my oval tag I used my Sizzix die cut and stamped "thanks" from the sentiment in the stamp set. I stamped the leaves and then cut them out and used my little glue dots to adhere them to the hemp cord.
I have some goodies to give away this week!!! Thanks for coming by and reading my blog.

{ Another sketch challenge }

Beate has another sketch challenge on her blog, and I love it. I made this card last night and I wanted to use papers that I usually wouldn't pick up. All cardstock and papers are from Die Cuts With A View. These papers came from Earth Coordinating Prints and Cardstock Mat Stacks. Beautiful colors. The stamps set is from Happy Harmony and it wasn't even mounted! Can you believe that??? As I was trying to perfectly add ink to flowers and stems, I was wishing I had the Earth Elements markers. I have the Bold Brights and I love them. This morning I remembered that I do have the markers!!!! Does that mean I have too much stuff??? The ribbon is from American Crafts and I used Marvy Uchida large scalloped punch. I have Fiskars circle and oval shape templates and they fit perfectly with two punches I have.
The plan for the day is to clean and organize my studio. If I ever finish I will post before and after photos. Have a great weekend.

Did you notice that my post yesterday didn't have a comment section, I don't know why.

{ Impression Obsession Design Team }

I got the email yesterday and I was choosen to be a part of the new Impression Obsession Design Team. I am so excited!!! I love their images and their clear stamps were my first ever clear stamps. I can't wait to get started. Congrats ladies!!!
Our new design team members are:
Asela Hopkins
Daniela Dobson
Debbie Olson
Bernadette Henderson
Julie Koerber
Laura Fulcher

I made this card last year and it uses two of Impression Obsession stamps. Doodling around the edges is my own. I used white gel pen. This card almost made it into one of the magazines, but it was returned to me after some time, I guess they didn't have any room left. Sometimes that happens.

Sorry I didn't post anything yesterday, I started to, but I fell asleep.
